Snapping Changes

← Back to the GaugeMaster Pro 2 Beta home

This page describes only what changes in GaugeMaster Pro 2. Check the current The magic of snapping page for the full details on how snapping works.

The Global Snap toolbar keeps its six segments (OFF plus five grids), but the grids are now unit-aware: the radius snap values adapt to the selected measurement unit, while angle snapping always stays in degrees.

These are the exact grids for each unit:

UnitRadius gridsAngle grids
px / pt1, 5, 10, 15, 451°, 5°, 10°, 15°, 45°
mm0.5, 1, 2.5, 5, 101°, 5°, 10°, 15°, 45°
cm0.05, 0.1, 0.25, 0.5, 11°, 5°, 10°, 15°, 45°
in0.025, 0.05, 0.125, 0.25, 0.51°, 5°, 10°, 15°, 45°

The temporary snapping modifier keys, used while dragging any action control, have been updated:

  • Holding Shift temporarily applies the middle snap grid (the classic 5 px / 5° segment) regardless of the current Global Snap setting, including when Global Snap is OFF.
  • Holding Option/Alt temporarily turns ON layer radius and angle snapping.
