Color Arc Layer

The Color Arc layer is quite versatile, as this can be as simple as the fine arcs at the edge of a scale, or some flat or gradient colored bands to highlight a section of a gauge. But you can even use images to fill an arc or an entire circle, for example, for when you need complex image backgrounds on your dials.

Color arcs can be of three types:

• Single Color
• Gradient
• Image

All the settings of a Color Arc can be adjusted with the settings already described in All Layers Common Settings and Arc Layers Geometry Settings.

Highlighting scale bands

It is very common to use color arcs to mark areas of interest on a gauge, like warning zones or other specific ranges of interest. This can easily be achieved by adding a color arc under your tickmarks or numeric scales.

You can achieve this effect by reordering the layers on the Layers list, making sure the color arc is below the tickmarks or numeric scale arcs they highlight.
