Canvas Settings Changes

← Back to the GaugeMaster Pro 2 Beta home

This page describes only what changes in GaugeMaster Pro 2. Check the current Canvas Settings page for the full details on this settings pane.

The new Canvas Defaults section has an Industry selector with two choices:

  • Instruments keeps the classic defaults for newly created radial layers: 135° start, 270° sweep, 15 divisions.
  • Horology pre-shapes new radial layers for clock faces: full circle, 12 divisions, numbers 1–12 with the 12 at the top. A watch dial takes shape with zero re-configuration!

The choice is saved per file, and the last selection you make explicitly becomes the default for your new files.

Multi-copy printing now has its own dedicated Multi-Copy Print section, with new settings to line up copies with flat-bed printer jigs:

SettingDescription
Print CountSets the number of copies to print.
Print Offset X / YShift the print origin, to line the copies up with the jig.
Print Gutter X / YSet the separation between copies.

The Multi-Copy Print button runs the print. All four measures follow the current measurement unit.

The SVG Export section has a new Text to Path toggle that converts all text in exported SVGs to pure outline paths. It defaults to on for new files, and off for files saved before 2.

See the Print and Export Changes page for the full behavior.

The Canvas Settings now host the new swatch controls: Load .ase File, Print Swatches Grid and Clear Swatches.

The color matching tools have their own Color Matching Tools section, separate from the swatch controls, as they are useful on their own: Color to Match, Print Color Grid, Plate Diameter, Plate Min Rings and Print Color Plate.

See the new Color Swatches page for all the details on both sections.
