Print and Export Changes

← Back to the GaugeMaster Pro 2 Beta home

This page describes only what changes in GaugeMaster Pro 2. Check the current Print and export gauges page for the full details on printing and exporting.

With multi-gauge canvases, printing and exporting now work on two scopes:

  • The whole canvas: all printable gauges, positioned exactly as designed on the canvas. This is the multi-gauge workflow.
  • The active gauge alone, just as before.

With real-world measurement units, printing is now 1:1 by default: your gauges print at their true physical size, with no diameter settings required.

If you need to force an arbitrary output diameter, the per-gauge Diam. Override option restores the old stretching behavior.

Multi-copy printing gains print offsets and gutters to line up copies with flat-bed printer jigs. See the Canvas Settings Changes page for the details.

When the new Text to Path toggle in Canvas Settings is enabled, all the text in exported SVGs is converted to pure outline paths, so the file renders identically everywhere (laser cutters, other vector editing apps, browsers) without needing the fonts to be installed.

If a font cannot be resolved, or a Bold/Italic face is only being simulated on screen, the export stops with a clear error listing the problem fonts and any unconvertible text (emoji being the common case), and suggests turning the toggle off to export live text instead.

Beyond Text to Path, exported SVGs are now flattened and far more compatible with third-party vector tools: shapes are exported as paths, transforms are simplified, coordinates are rounded, and empty groups are stripped.
