Roman Scales
Section titled “Roman Scales”The Four setting of the Roman scale type has three choices:
- IV, the standard four.
- IIII, which writes only the number 4 as IIII, so 14 reads XIV and 24 reads XXIV. This is the watchmaker’s four, and what a new Text Arc layer gets with the canvas Industry set to Horology.
- IIII All, which writes every number ending in four that way, so 14 reads XIIII and 24 reads XXIIII.
Zero on Roman Scales
Section titled “Zero on Roman Scales”First Number accepts 0, and zero is written as the digit 0, since Roman numerals have no zero. A 24-hour dial can read 0, I, II up to XXIII, and a descending scale can end on 0. Values below 0 or above 3999 render as empty text.
