2026-08-10 GaugeMaster Pro v2.0.3-beta
Section titled “2026-08-10 GaugeMaster Pro v2.0.3-beta”Changes
Section titled “Changes”- Renamed the Text Arc layer’s H Align and H Align Offset controls to R Align and R Align Offset, since they align the text along the radius. Behavior is unchanged.
- New Text Detail layers now default to V Align = Full instead of Digits, since detail text is usually a unit label or generic text with no numerals to cap-align. Text Arc layers still default to Digits.
- Renamed the Canvas Settings Multi-print Layout section to Multi-Copy Print, matching its button.
- Shortened the per-gauge bitmap export field label to Diam. (pixels) so it fits neatly in the settings column.
- Smoother canvas zoom controls: the zoom buttons are spaced more tightly and no longer shift sideways as the zoom readout grows, and the Alt/Option + drag zoom feels the same speed at every zoom level.
- Refined scroll-to-adjust on number fields: selecting a field and scrolling now moves exactly one step, matching the field’s own +/- spinner and its limits. Hold Shift while scrolling for a faster 10x step.
- Minor visual polish: the active-button and selected-cell highlight color was toned down slightly, and in the Gauge Wizards the Zero Band field now stays visible but disabled when it does not apply, instead of disappearing.
2026-08-06 GaugeMaster Pro v2.0.2-beta
Section titled “2026-08-06 GaugeMaster Pro v2.0.2-beta”- Shape Detail layers can now be non-square: turn off the new Keep 1:1 toggle to reveal a Width field that stretches the shape sideways, independently of its arc width.
- Added cmHg (centimeters of mercury) to the Pressure Gauge Wizard’s unit list.
- Fixed the Gauge Wizard placing the generated unit label at the gauge center on narrow gauges (arc angle below 180°), where it was hard to select and move; it now sits at a usable radius.
- Widened the Gauge Wizard’s angle offset range (past -90°), so more unusual gauge layouts can be built.
- Wizard-generated unit labels now use the standard (Full) vertical alignment, since they are plain text with no digits to cap-align.
2026-07-28 GaugeMaster Pro v1.99.6-beta
Section titled “2026-07-28 GaugeMaster Pro v1.99.6-beta”- Fixed the local system fonts not being available in the font picker on a fresh start, so they are preloaded again straight away.
2026-07-23 GaugeMaster Pro v1.99.5-beta
Section titled “2026-07-23 GaugeMaster Pro v1.99.5-beta”Changes
Section titled “Changes”- Renamed the New Gauge toolbar button to New Canvas, which better describes clearing everything to start fresh now that a canvas holds many gauges. The shortcut is unchanged.
- Renamed the Canvas Settings Industry Defaults section to Canvas Defaults, and its Industrial option to Instruments (the Horology option is unchanged).
- Renamed the text layers’ Num vertical alignment option to Digits (its behavior is identical).
- Simplified the gauge frame’s diameter label: it now shows the diameter symbol
Øfollowed by the size (for exampleØ100 mm / 4"). The “Free” text and the lock icon were dropped, as the reference ring and the Size selector already make the preset-versus-free state clear. - Made the size preset’s reference ring a high-contrast dashed line, so it stays readable over both light and dark dial backgrounds.
- Tidied several Canvas and Gauge settings section titles away from generic “Options” labels to more specific ones. The bitmap image export sections are now both titled Bitmap Image Export (PNG/JPG), and the per-gauge bitmap field is now labeled Diameter (pixels) so its unit is explicit.
- Redesigned the startup Welcome graphic with a cleaner look that no longer flickers on load, and it never appears on a printout.
- Fixed exported SVG files not re-importing cleanly, as they no longer carry an internal id that clashed with the app’s own canvas when importing one of our exported SVGs back in.
2026-07-21 GaugeMaster Pro v1.99.4-beta
Section titled “2026-07-21 GaugeMaster Pro v1.99.4-beta”Changes
Section titled “Changes”- Renamed the Gauge Wizards’ Double Scale and Double Arc options to Dual Scale and Dual Arc, and their Spacing setting to Arc Spacing.
- Moved Arc Line Width to the bottom of the Gauge Wizards’ All Scales section, to follow the natural editing order of the settings.
- Reduced the size of saved gauge files, as empty blueprint, swatch and arc layer image data is no longer written into them. Loading your files is unaffected.
2026-07-16 GaugeMaster Pro v1.99.3-beta
Section titled “2026-07-16 GaugeMaster Pro v1.99.3-beta”- Multi-gauge canvases: design any number of gauges in one document — add, duplicate, import, reorder, drag layers between gauges, and print or export the whole canvas or a single gauge.
- Real-world units: work in px, pt, mm, cm or inches with true physical sizes and 1:1 printing by default.
- Gauge size presets: EN 837 / ASME standard diameters (40 mm to 300 mm) as on-canvas design references, honored by the Gauge Wizards.
- Color swatches: import Adobe
.asepalettes, assign swatches from the color picker, and print swatch grids and color-match plates for material calibration. - Dark mode: choose between the
Light,DarkorSystemthemes. - Industry defaults: one-click Horology mode pre-shapes new layers for watch and clock faces.
- Multi-copy printing: print multiple copies with jig-friendly offsets and gutters.
- Added new keyboard shortcuts for gauge management.
- Added
Numvertical alignment to text layers, centering dial numbers on their cap height. - Added Meters Head of Water (mH2O) to the Pressure wizard’s unit list.
Changes
Section titled “Changes”- SVG export overhaul: text-to-path conversion and flattened, laser-cutter-friendly output.
- Global Snap grids are now unit-aware, adapting the radius grids to the selected measurement unit.
- All settings sections are now collapsible, and settings that do not apply in the current context are now hidden.
- Maximum zoom raised to x10, with a new Zoom to Fit action.
- Fixed
Cmd/Ctrl + Snot saving the canvas while a text field was focused.
